Things to do all year long!
• Oelwein's Aquatic Park with its large swimming pool, water slide, fountains, lap lanes, wading pool, and diving boards, offers great summer fun for Oelwein families. Swimming lessons and aqua aerobic classes are available as well as a mini golf course. Phone 283-4047 (summer) for more info, or 283-5440 all year.
• Outdoor Recreation opportunities include public parks, campgrounds, children's playgrounds, and picnic areas. Canoeing, boating and swimming are available at City Park.
A paved hiking/biking trail is being extended to include access to all areas of town. Tennis courts, a skateboard rink, and softball diamonds are located at Wings Park. Two beautiful 9-hole golf courses are available, one on the west side of Lake Oelwein, and the other among 82 acres of trees east of town.
A new ball field includes lighted baseball fields and soccer fields. In the winter, enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.
• Indoor Recreation includes a first-run movie theater with two screens, a bowling alley, a performing arts center, a wellness center, and a surprising variety of dining and shopping opportunities.
• The Williams Center page on this website to catch upcoming performances at the Williams Center for the Performing Arts. Activities at the Williams Wellness Center include an indoor track, workout machines, weight-room, several exercise classes, and basketball leagues for all ages. An indoor swimming pool is also available.
• The Community Plaza is available for rent for wedding receptions, family reunions, birthday or graduation parties, and other gatherings. A square dance club and other dancers find the Plaza a great place to play. Call 283-1105 for details.
