Tour Buses Welcome!
The Oelwein Chamber & Area Development can be your step-on-guide for a tour through our nearby Old Order Amish Community. Tour will include stops at stores and bakery, farm tour, furniture shop tour and more. Options can be discussed. Guide will provide information about the Amish community and will take care of setting up the whole day's agenda including lunch. Tours can also include sites in Oelwein with museums, breweries and attractions. Include a performance at the Williams Center for the Performing Arts and make it an overnight trip!

Flower Baskets
Hanging flower baskets will once again adorn the downtown area. The baskets are funded by donations. Donations can be made as a memorium in honor of a loved one or sponsored by area individuals and businesses. Please be generous and help us beautify our downtown. Donations of $50 per basket can be made to the OCAD Office. This project is sponsored by Positively Oelwein and OCAD with assistance from the Oelwein FFA Chapter.

Great Gift Idea - Oelwein 2011 Door Print & 2012 Window Print
 
Positively Oelwein is taking orders for an 11x30" print of local doors or a 16x16" print of local windows in Oelwein as shown in the photos above. The prints can be purchased as the print only for $25 or mounted and framed in a black frame for $85. All proceeds will be used by the Positively Oelwein committee for community projects. To order a print, please call the OCAD office at 319-283-1105 or stop in and look at a framed sample.

City Wide Clean Up
In participation of Oelwein's City Wide Clean Up, Positively Oelwein will be painting and repairing the North and South Organizational Signs on Sunday, May 6th at 1:00pm. Anyone interested in helping can meet at the North Frederick Square Parking Lot on that date and time. If helping, please bring paint brushes, ladders, etc. if possible. This project will help beautify the North and South entrances inot town and help increase awareness of our local organizations.

Spiffy Award
The Positively Oelwein Committee will once again be accepting nominations for nice looking properties in Oelwein. One residential property in each quadrant of town and one business property will be awarded the Spiffy Award each month beginning May 1st and running through October of 2012. If you have a property you would like to nominate, please do so by calling the OCAD office at 319-283-1105. Nominated properties will remain on the list of nominations for the committee to vote on throughout the year, so there is no need to nominate the same property more than once. Clapper Award
Nominations for the monthly Clapper Award are being accepted to recognize good customer service, positive attitude, friendliness, etc. Please nominate someone who has helped you in a local business, school or workplace that has earned the honor of this award. Clapper awards are given monthly by the Positively Oelwein Committee. Nominated persons remain on the nomination list for the committee to vote on each month. Please help us honor those in our community who promote being "Positively Oelwein" on a daily basis!
